Our Federation gathers several professions: collectors, traders, traders/collectors, slaughterers as well as service providers, commission agents and other experts in raw hides and skins.
The main duties of a collector involve:
Traders have an exclusively commercial role without any product handling.
Some can practice both jobs.
They also have a crucial role in our industry, as the quality of the hide and the preservation of the hides play critical roles on the quality and value of the hide. These hides are either collected or sold directly to tanners.
Commissionaires and experts on the other hand have more of an advisory role.
Finally, service providers may be involved in one of the tasks usually reserved for collectors, such as salting or cutting activities for example.
